Welcome to the Chicagoland Black Deaf Advocates (CLBDA) Website

CLBDA Workshop
CLBDA was.formed with the purpose of advocating social, health, and civil rights issues for black individuals within the deaf community. Empowerment and overall well-being are paramount to the success of the black deaf community in Chicago area. 

The objectives of the CLBDA are: 
  • To better inform ourselves and the community about the rights and responsibilities of Black Deaf citizens

  • To identify, examine, and disseminate information related to the impact of social, economic, education, health, political, and religious issues through the medium of panel, lectures, and workshop

  • To encourage increase in leadership development and employment opportunities for Black Deaf persons throughout the Chicagoland and to further their potential.
